The migrant situation at the U.S Mexico border continues to intensify with the lift of Title 42 only five days away.

On Saturday a large group of migrants were escorted into the country by Border Patrol agents.

Migrants in the group turned themselves in at the Padres Exit along the Border Highway and were eventually escorted down the highway to Midway and Alameda in the Lower Valley.

The migrants were mostly from Venezuela, with some being from Ecuador and Cuba according to a spokesperson with the El Paso Border Patrol.

KFOX14 spoke to a migrant from Colombia who shared she arrived on Monday to the Mexican side of the border wall.

“We got to gate 40 and they told us that they had already picked people up that day and unfortunately we didn’t make it in,” Carolina Perez said.

Once at Midway and Alameda, a U.S Customs and Border Protection bus arrived and the migrants were loaded onto the bus.

The migrants would be taken either to the Central Processing Center in the Northeast or the soft sided facility off of U.S 54, according to a Border Patrol spokesperson.
