MUMBAI: Even as CM Eknath Shinde affirmed there was no trouble within his Shiv Sena over the entry of Ajit Pawar as deputy CM and 8 NCP MLAs in the Maharashtra government, rumblings within the CM's camp grew on Thursday.
CM Eknath Shinde camp

Independent MLA Bachchu Kadu, who had been among the earliest to support Shinde's rebellion against Uddhav Thackeray last year, said the 40 Sena MLAs who supported the revolt were now feeling that it was all a mistake and added that Pawar's entry would pose problems. Two Sena MLAs, Bharat Gogawale and Mahendra Thorve from Raigad district, made it clear they would not accept it if NCP minister Aditi Tatkare were made guardian minister of the district.
Kadu, who was a minister in the earlier Maha Vikas Aghadi government but joined Shinde's revolt, said, "Earlier, in the MVA, Ajit Pawar had created problems. He will do the same again, including keeping funds away from us. He will create hindrances in decisions that we want."
Over the past three days, some Sena ministers and MLAs have voiced their discomfort over the government becoming the Shinde-Fadnavis-Pawar government.
‘BJP doesn’t care for its allies; rebellion feels like a mistake’
Independent MLA Bachchu Kadu, who had gone along with CM Eknath Shinde when he revolted lasy year, lashed out at BJP and said it did not care about its allies. "BJP only wants to strengthen its own party. Those coming in can fall into a ditch or die, BJP does not think about this. It is focused on winning the Lok Sabha polls," he said.
He added: "For the 40 MLAs who joined the (Shinde-led) rebellion, now the situation is that it was a mistake. There should be some information that is shared. Even as an ally, we don't get any information,"
Opposing any possible appointment of NCP legislator Aditi Tatkare as guardian minister of Raigad district, MLA Bharat Gogawale said, "It had been decided earlier that the guardian minister would be with the Shiv Sena." MLA Mahendra Thorve said, "We will not accept Aditi Tatkare as guardian minister."

Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde rubbishes his resignation rumours; lampoons NCP

Speaking to the media, chief minister Eknath Shinde however denied that there was any discontent within his party as a result of the induction of Ajit Pawar and eight other NCP MLAs into the cabinet. "There is no problem with Ajit Pawar's entry. It has made our government stronger. All of us believe in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision," he said.
When asked about the likelihood of seat-sharing issues in future between the three allies, Shinde said, "Those who have won seats will retain them. The rest will be shared amicably."
Dismissing rumours that he would resign, Shinde, who recently completed one year as CM, said, "All kinds of stories are being spread. The Shiv Sena (UBT)'s own house is falling apart, and they are making allegations about others. This shows that they live in their dreams. We were in power but left our posts because of ideology," he said.
