Six people were arrested last week when Atlantic City police uncovered marijuana growing and cocaine processing operations in neighboring apartments, authorities said.

Atlantic City police said Daniel Uribe, Linda Bones and Anthony Whitaker were “actively processing” cocaine at about 3:15 p.m. on April 7 in an apartment kitchen on the first block of South Texas Avenue when cops executed a search warrant.

Investigators saw a ladle that contained cooked cocaine, spoons with narcotic residue and a scale along 53 grams of suspected crack cocaine, officials said. Police also found 120 buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual film packets, and items used for the packaging and preparation of illegal drugs.

Buprenorphine is an opioid used to treat pain while naloxone is used to reverse the effect of opioids.

In the apartment next door, police said they found nine live marijuana plants, more than 4 grams of suspected crack cocaine, about an ounce of pot and a small amount of heroin.

Two Atlantic City men in that apartment — Jose Santiago Sr., 48, and Jose Santiago Jr., 30, were charged with drug possession and distribution and released with a summons. A 38-year-old Somers Point woman was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Meanwhile, Uribe, Bones and Whitaker were charged with maintaining or operating a drug production facility as well as multiple drug possession and distribution offenses.

Uribe, 35, and Bones, 34, live in Atlantic City. Whitaker, 44, resides in Bridgeton.

All of the suspects were sent to the Atlantic County jail. Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.

Seven dispensaries in New Jersey can begin legally selling marijuana on Thursday.
