Midstream services company Lucid Energy Group has begun operations at the Red Hills V cryogenic processing plant in the Delaware Basin, the US.

The Red Hills V facility is capable of processing 230 million cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMcf/d).

The plant brings the firm’s total capacity of natural gas processing franchise in the northern Delaware Basin to 1.2 billion cubic feet per day.

Lucid CEO Mike Latchem said: “Now more than ever, producers require reliable and high-quality midstream service providers.

“We are thrilled to commission Red Hills V and will continue to provide superior service to our customers as they develop the prolific northern Delaware Basin.”

Lucid Energy also operates more than 2,000 miles (3,218.6km) of high and low-pressure pipeline infrastructure, which feeds its processing and treating complexes.

The processing and treating complexes are equipped to produce nearly 150,000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids.

The firm has launched five major natural gas processing plants since 2017. Its assets provide services to Eddy and Lea counties in New Mexico.

In July 2019, Lucid signed long-term natural gas gathering and processing agreement with XTO Energy, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil, for a new cryogenic processing plant in Southeast New Mexico.

A privately held natural gas processor in the Permian Basin, Lucid offers gas midstream services to more than 50 customers in New Mexico and West Texas.

It has more than 930 million cubic feet of natural gas processing capacity in operation or under construction, while its operational pipeline assets exceed 3,600 miles.
